Somehow it's been nearly a week since I popped by this place, and oh, what a week it has been. First, there was the flu, complete with aches and pains and headache that lasted for six days, followed by a party for 24 that was cooked for, then cancelled, due to an ice storm that hit our area. I should also mention the ensuing lost power and lack of heat for 28 hours, a flat tire, many changes to holiday plans due to sick relatives, and all of the other challenges that can come with winter and the holidays.
However, there’s also been merry making in the best of ways, and as I look around at the presents scattered under the tree, the new-pajama clad kids watching holiday movies, the fridge full of food ready for days of feasting, and the plans penciled into the calendar for the coming week I know we have much to be excited, and grateful for, and I’m soooooooo ready for a little celebration.
Reader Meaghan sent me a lovely note yesterday thanking me for the work I put into my blog posts. In reality, it’s me who should be thanking each of you. Thank you for stopping by each week, thank you for reading and commenting, and thank you for your notes and kind words. My sincere hope is that each of you has the happiest of holidays and that you are surrounded by those you love, fresh snow and crackling fires, and your favourite seasonal foods. I hope you get to give a kid a present, play a game or two, watch a movie, and laugh with your beloved friends and family. Enjoy the week… Merry Christmas to all of you!
