It’s been a while since we’ve had a chat about the book that Julie and I have written, and I thought it might be time to update you on how things are progressing.
For starters, there's been a lot of behind the scenes stuff happening in the past few months. We’ve gone through two rounds of edits, both of which involved pouring over printed pages of the book and answering a ton of questions put forth by the editors. It’s also required us to re-shoot some of the photos, remove some of the original pictures from the pages, and decide how to present the bits of information that aren't part of a recipe. We've made decisions on line drawings, front and back covers, and author photos, and it's all coming together quite nicely, if I do say so.
To be honest, it’s been more work than I expected. Not that I thought putting a book together was easy, or that as soon as I handed in the manuscript my work was done, I just didn’t think there would be quite so many questions to answer and decisions to make. Book writing is a ton of work, and while I certainly hope to have the opportunity to do it again, I can see why it takes most authors a few years to repeat the process.
But here's the exciting news: our book is heading off to the printers soon, and will be available in stores at the end of October. Gah! That means you’ll be able to find it in your local Chapters, Indigo, or independent bookseller. It’s also available on Amazon (.com and .ca), of course, and we'd be thrilled if you decided to pre-order a copy!
I think that's all I have to report for now. The holiday season is fast approaching and you can bet you'll be hearing more on the topic of easy entertaining and Gatherings in the coming months. As always, thank you, thank you, thank you... for reading and making so much of this possible!
